Mr. Hertz has over 35 years experience in the human service field and has practiced psychotherapy with children, teenagers and adults for over 25 years. Mr. Hertz has taught psychology and human sexuality to high school, college and adult students of culturally diverse backgrounds in the classroom and in many presentations to community, civic and business groups. He has also trained people at the local, state and national organizational levels in a variety of areas, such as employee management, Sexual Attitude Reassessment and human interactions. For five years Mr. Hertz worked as a child abuse investigator and administrator for the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services (IDCFS).

Mr. Hertz believes that effective therapy is problem and behavior-change focused. In 70% of his cases, Mr. Hertz completes treatment in fewer than 10 sessions (see Philosophy).
